Greetings to you all in the Jesus name. I bring special greetings from Church of the Living Edge, Bishop Joseph Garlington and Pastor Randy Morrison. We are glad to know that you are all standing strong as a church.

I believe this is a year of release into inheritance. We are living in a day when what we can count on now is uncertainty and change. We are living in a day of rapid, unprecedented, accelerated change. The experts in the field of social science and the business world are now conceding that change is changing. Despite what the world can see in the natural, God wants you to change history; and you have the potential and the power to shift an atmosphere and change an environment.

I preached the message – I Want More in the earlier service which is a prequel to this one, which I have summarised below:

God has more in store for you, as we are inherently designed by Him with a desire to long for more. It is similar to that longing for food that God placed within Adam, giving him the capacity to feel hunger, surrounding him with fruits in the Garden of Eden (1 Corinthians 2:9). Another reason why you must want more is also because you believe that there is more.

Proverbs 12:27 reads: Lazy people don't even cook the game they catch, but the diligent make use of everything they find (NLT).

From our foundation scripture, we read that Elijah throws his mantle on Elisha, in a day of unprecedented change. Elijah having slain the prophets of Baal and Ashtaroth is being hunted by Jezebel. In his discouragement, with enough work to do, he recognised the need, having been told by God to anoint a successor. He travels to Abel-Meholah to anoint Elisha. Abel-Meholah is a territory entrusted to the children of Issachar, a tribe known for their prophetic insight (1 Chronicles 12:32).

Similarly, a mantle has been thrown on New Wine Church, a company of people, by your Founding Pastor who had the ability to get caught up into a dimension of more; he had the ability to see the unseen, hear the unheard, speak the unspoken, and capture the heart of a people for more. If we are to be worthy of what God wants to do with us, if the mantle has indeed fallen on you, then it must have stirred up within you a hunger of what you've been waiting for, all these while. Now everything needs to change.

Elisha, known to be a farmer in the field, ploughing the field with twelve yokes of oxen; embodies a man who was already industrious, diligent and blessed. He however, recognised the next phase of his life and quickly proceeded in the direction of the mantle. And so must we do also.
There were a lot of people who did not want more of the mantle; Elisha came across them in Gilgal, Bethel and Jericho. Accurate as they were in their prophetic insight, in telling Elisha that Elijah was to be taken away soon, yet they had no desire to be part of the prophecy.

As the story unfolds, it must be noted that Elijah gives Elisha a test in servanthood; he is described as the man who poured water on the hands of Elisha (2 Kings 3:11). It may not have looked like much, but it was an opportuned time to learn from the master.
Elijah performs one more miracle – he parts the Jordan river, stepping away from the Promised Land. On the other side, a type and shadow of going through a period of isolation, Elijah asks Elisha 'What do you want?'. Elisha responds: 'A double portion of your spirit', best interpreted as "I want to operate in the same dimension of the creative power of shifting atmospheres and changing environments, so that I as I serve this generation, we move into change. In the midst of unpredictability, I want an open heaven to see what God is doing and where He is leading us, and bring the people of God into that which He has for them, so that everyone who follows can say 'I want more'".

Having laid that preamble, lets learn a bit more from this message: 'My Change has arrived'.

There is a season of transition between 'I Want More' and 'My Change has arrived'. In this season you have to sort out what you can take with you into the future and what you have to leave behind in your past.

Mastering change requires riding the waves, transitioning from where you are to where you want to be, requiring cooperation between heaven and earth.

Restoration is receiving fully from God what He intended to give to you, that you could not afford before you experienced a loss – It's is much bigger than what you had before. If you can relate to this in any way, probably you have lost something precious to you which you've waited for, to be restored to you over the last decade or more, I want to assure you that your change has arrived!

Elijah had to face Jezebel, and in order to do this, he had to turn off the water. I must add that your founding Pastor, Dr Tayo was a type of Elijah who faced severe battles. This church could not have been built without facing stong opposition. Here is how Apostle Paul puts it: 'For we who live are constantly being delivered over to death for Jesus' sake, so that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh (2 Corinthians 4:11 NASB). Despite the attack that he faced, Dr Tayo demonstrated a life of infectious, absolutely incredible faith and optimism. When you've interacted with such a man, something within you cries 'I want a double portion of this. I want more'.

Elijah was taken by a whirlwind in Heaven. Elisha had paid the price of journeying with him beyond the Jordan, epitomising that phrase 'I Want More' and returning with the promise of 'My Change Has Arrived'. With Jezebel still alive, Elisha requested for the right of the firstborn (Deuteronomy 21:17). He had left everything to receive all that Elijah carried. In other words, I could hear Elisha say to Elijah 'This is not for me. I want your legacy to live on. I want your legacy to be on my life in such a way that I get the double portion. I want the greater works that you've prepared me for. Jezebel should not just be rebuked, but should be judged, with Israel experiencing reformation, revival and restoration'.

You need to realise that God did not just bring you here for a feel-good experience, but to restore an old time outpouring of the Holy Spirit, forgotten by the people of this nation, a restoration that happened in the days of the reformation. He has raised you up for such a time as this.

When the fathers of Europe were not paying attention to what was being said by their fathers, God raised up some Cappadocian fathers that go back to Augustine of Hippo, because 'Change has arrived'. I am here to let you know here at New Wine, that your best days are not behind you, they are ahead of you. The worst is over and the best is yet to come!

So Elisha asks for a double portion of Elijah's Spirit. For this, God gives Elisha an assignment – Jericho; a cursed city. It was the first city destroyed by the Israelites as they conquered the Promised Land. Joshua had cursed the city, forbidding the rebuilding of the walls (Joshua 6:26). However, in the New Testament era, God had taken that curse and reversed it in Jesus, who died on behalf of the world.

I want to encourage you to pick up the mantle of your founding Pastor, decide that the more that you want to see is going to be built on the foundation and the legacy that he left. Just like we have read about Elisha from our foundation scripture, get ready to cross over Jordan.

Dr Tayo left his mantle, his coat – of faith, praise, favour, kingdom revelation, teaching the word of God precept upon precept, miracles, signs and wonders, that spirit of 'it can be done and you can do it', the image of God that He is looking for in a people, and global influence. If you will pick up this coat, you can do the greater works, because your change has arrived!

To pick up this coat, you needed to have gone through the season of grieving and tearing your own. While he was processing his transition, you were tearing your garments in grief, because you did not want him to leave. You had not realised that change was coming, and with every tear and heartache, and every seemingly lack of answer to prayer, you were being stripped by your own hands, of that which caused you to believe that you did not have what it took, until you were left uncovered and you then realised that, possibly you had been made for more.

While there are similarities to Elijah and Elisha, there were also differences. Don't expect your Senior Minister, Pastor Michael to be like Dr Tayo, or you would miss the fact, that your change has arrived. When Elijah left, Elisha saw him no more, but he saw the heavens open. Dr Tayo left you an open heaven and a coat, and I declare to you that this is your year of release.

There are greater works that are going to manifest this year, a greater anointing that is going to be released over you this year. I heard God speak to me on my way here, from the words of Isaiah 'Do I bring to the moment of birth and not give delivery?" says the LORD.' (Isaiah 66:9). Your change has arrived
